One-piece or two-piece? Boy shorts or bikini shorts? More coverage or less? Ultimately, the answer is highly personal when it comes to choosing a swimsuit. Swimwear Suppliers share their tips for choosing swimwear.

If you want to get more support on top. Consider one-piece swimsuits with halter straps and adjustable back straps, tops with higher necklines, or swimsuits with thicker straps for added chest support. Other things to keep in mind are to keep everything in place: built-in shelf bras, back closures or elastic straps under the breasts. For swim tops, look for a looser cut around your breasts so your sides are fully covered. If you have fuller breasts, a Bikini Swimsuit is another good choice.

For high-intensity water sports. If you spend a lot of time diving into the waves, you don't want to worry that your bottoms will roll up or your top will fall down. Look for straps that keep the shoulder straps off your shoulders, secure cross-over straps or drawstrings that allow you to tighten your top or bottoms for a more secure fit.

For heat and sun protection. Swimwear often has a lot of layering potential to help you regulate temperature and exposure throughout the day. You can start with a bikini top in the morning and then put on a sun suit or swim cover in the afternoon when the sun is strong. Put on a pair of surf shorts after a paddle or pull on a sunscreen hoodie.
